July in Afghan Land

JULY

So the Doc and I got bored and and decided to make some Corn Hole boards (Bean Bag Toss).

The only paint we could find was our medical spray paint of Red & White.

So I started school on the 3rd of July! I signed up for 8 week courses of Algebra and English.
So we will see how it goes.

So here is my buddy Holman getting some practice on his suturing.
We love BLOOD! ha ha haaaaa

The Medic tent has turned into our battalion's Salon. Here is Chief Young cutting another pilots hair. And yes its hooked up to a vacuum! It makes virtually no mess! He does it for free, and all tips go towards Schiners Hospital for Children.

Here is a couple of our new Black Hawks hangin out.

They do have some pretty good sunsets here. I know the picture isn't that good, just trust me.

I took my camera on my morning run, and this Apache flew about 20 ft above me. I could barely breath because of all the dust it kicked up!

This is why I took my camera running!
Ouch!

Everyone inside was A-Okay :) Go America!

So we got on a health food kick here. I kept asking for dried fruits sent from the states. And with dried fruit being kind of pricey, I purchased a food dehydrator online! They have fresh fruit here every day, and now I can store it on the shelf without it going bad! Me and the Doc pretty much cut up and dry fruit every night now!

So here I am feeling sick, but I have to get homework done!

The Afghan Sprite does not taste the same!

Here I am trying to figure out "Multiplying and Dividing Radicals!"
Math is like magic. It is just doing tricky stuff with numbers! There is no reason for some of this stuff, only the reason of getting done and saying "Look what I can do!"

So a bug flew in his eye! He must of got it out, but it scratched the crap out of his eye.

So to check for a Corneal Abrasion (a scratch on the eye). We dye the eye, you can only see the dye with a black light. It was pretty cool.

So Doc J. is leaving us :( He is going somewhere that his skill level will be utilized more. We are all sad to see him leave. He has brought us together as a team, and has given us so much.
Here Doc S. and I are putting together a book of pictures, quotes, and letters from all the medics.

It's a bad picture but here is the cover of the booklet.

Here is Doc J. reading his book. As you can tell we have a sense of humor.
He was laughing so hard he was crying.

I randomly got three boxes in one day! Look at all this good stuff.
Thank you all that sent them.

Here is a convoy getting ready to go on a night mission.

Here is another picture of one of our medical classes. I love learning all this medical stuff!

So I hear some instructions for dancing as I am doing homework, and I look up and see this.
The Doc and his wife learning how to dance on the night shift.

Here are my gals waiting for me at home :)
